This word, comfort, is a curious one. In my mind, comfort instils images of a soft and comfy armchair, sitting beside the fireplace with a hot cocoa reading a riveting mystery novel. Outside, there rages a snowstorm that heightens my sense of warmth and safety, but the glass pane that separates us is an indestructible shield, a barrier, that keeps me safe beyond belief. A comfort zone, however, is a mental construct. It’s a structure of mental barriers that are not necessarily real. Your comfort zone is where you live, in your head and in your body. It is your thoughts, and those thoughts are reflected in your environment. It is your belief system. It is your addiction to your current lifestyle. A comfort zone keeps you safe, but not necessarily happy. Consider your job: If you have a job that you’ve had for a few years, then that job is in your comfort zone. You can like or dislike the job; doesn’t matter, it’s all the same. That job is your addiction. Consider your finances: If your financial income has habitually paralleled your debt, (ie if your debt increases with wage/income increases), then that parallel is your comfort zone.
This is a video that you must see. I’ve posted the trailer on the Absolutely Unstoppable aka Profound Videos page. I’m going to be looking into hosting this video so if you are from the Victoria BC area, keep your eyes open. This video talks in great detail what I touch upon in my book in the Accountability section. My main message is that we are not our bodies, even though (as this movie clearly states) everything around us screams otherwise. And it’s hard (nay, impossible) not to be influenced. And it also calls upon Collaboration, the second strategy. It will take an incredible concerted effort to change the world for our daughters. And (sadly) it might take 500 years. Sigh. But the starting point is now. A Must See for women entrepreneurs, mothers, sisters, daughters and the whole lot of us. And if you know men who can handle this truth and are malleable on their own, this might be worthy of their presence as well.

Quick-fix-solutions to entrepreneurship sold by motivational gurus line their pockets at your expense. Today’s spike in self-help get-rich-quick seminars should remind you of another multi-billion dollar fad: the diet industry. Both generate a lot of money. Both leave a residual trail of books and products (like powdered concoctions, CDs, DVDs, and money jars). Both burden you with ever-growing credit-card bills. (Yes Virginia, compounding is indeed powerful.) Yet, the skinny stays airbrushed on the cover, and you’re still stuck at the starting gates of entrepreneurship. Have you heard about the slow movement? Here, a book is not a calling card to that “free” seminar which in turn leads to a $10,000+ credit card bill. Here, “just add water” produces, um, a glass of water. Genuine book learning can make a gradual and sustained difference in your life. Slow and steady. Take the time to build a strong, solid foundation, and then you too can have long lasting results. It’s slow, and it’s scary. Nothing can take the edge off that. Sure, you can walk across some fire pit, step into an arrow pointed at your throat, or sit through some hokey sweat lodge. Go ahead, savour the adrenaline rush [...]

Media Release – For immediate distribution A new Canadian-authored book is exploding onto the scene. The Three Strategies of the Unstoppable Woman was launched online December 8th, 2010. Almost a month later, the book is still on the Amazon.ca bestseller list, showing as #8 in the Women & Business category. http://www.amazon.ca/Three-Strategies-Unstoppable-Woman/dp/1935586114/ The prestigious Cambridge Who’s Who has recently recognized the book’s author, Britt Santowski, for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in writing. Cambridge Who’s Who Press Release: http://www.24-7pressrelease.com/view_press_release.php?rID=188950 Cambridge Who’s Who Member Page: http://www.cambridgewhoswho.com/Members/INTL/Britt-Santowski-1299199.html It is rumoured that Santowski will also be recognized in the Cambridge EPE Directory. Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs (EPEs) of the Year are hand picked by the Cambridge Who’s Who selection committee based on professional accomplishments, academic achievement, leadership and service. (A press release later this month will confirm this recognition.) In recent coverage (http://www.bclocalnews.com/vancouver_island_south/sookenewsmirror/entertainment/112884944.html , Santowski distinguishes herself from the sea of other self-help authors. “It’s unique on several fronts,” says Santowski. “It’s not your typical self-help book where many authors hold the answer. I say you hold the answer, the reader is the expert.” Santowski’s book is changing the rules for women entrepreneurs, giving them the confidence they need to succeed.
CBC’s national radio show, The Current, recently did an expose on youth (un)employment and entrepreneurship. Bang on! While I think youth unemployment is a chronic AND timeless issue, youth today have an incredible opportunity for entrepreneurship given the exponential growth of technology these days. While there can only be one Mark Zuckerberg (and, no, you can’t mimic his personality traits to “attract” the exact same level of success he’s had), you can always apply the three strategies to catapult forward into the exciting future of your unique opportunity tomorrow!

On this ONE-DAY ONLY, I’m launching my new book, The Three Strategies of the Unstoppable Woman. And I really I need your help. It’s not so much that I just want to sell my book. Yes, I do want it to sell. But when I set out to develop this campaign, I under-estimated the amount of people who would actually step up with a bonus gift as an incentive to buy. Honestly, I expected to raise anywhere from $500 to $2,000 in gifts. What I actually got blew me away. I have accumulated over $9,000 in bonuses including audio courses, videos, teleseminars, eBooks, reports, coaching, discounts and coupons. Offers were still trickling in as late as a few hours ago!! All focused on what a budding woman entrepreneur can use to help her catapult forward with her dreams. Now, here’s the catch. It’s a one-day only event. People who buy my book through Amazon on Wednesday December 8th (for about $20) can download over $9,000 worth of gifts (my site says “more than $5,836, but get out your calculator…). That’s insane when you consider return on investment. But my sponsors are adamant. It’s ONLY for one day. So I want [...]

The quick-fix-solution to business currently being sold by so-called motivational gurus is lining only their pockets, not yours. The current spike in the self-help get-rich-quick gurus reminds me of another multi-billion dollar fad: the diet industry. Both generate a lot of money, and both leave a residual trail of books and products (like powdered concoctions and money jars) collecting dust on various household shelves, and a ever-growing credit-card bills. And the skinny remains on the cover, and the personal household debt continues to grow. I know of what I speak. Been there, done that. And my credit has been eaten, spurned and burned and spit out on the other end. And I’m mad as hell. I want to talk about the SLOW movement, where a book does not lead to a freebie seminar upsell which in turn leads to a $10,000+ upsell. I want to talk about disseminating genuine knowledge that will make a difference in your life, but not immediately. Slow and steady.
